In the area of 8100 South and 450 West in Midvale, homeowners reported basement flooding and water overflowing into the streets. According to KSL's meteorologist Lynae Miyer, early estimates of rainfall in Midvale were 1/4 to 1/2 inch.
At Jane Nichol's home in Midvale, she had about 4 inches, and up to 10 inches in some spots, of sitting water in the backyard after Saturday's rainstorm. The Nichols said it has not been dry since Thursday's rainstorm.
Nichol's neighbor's basement had flooded Saturday after the storm, she said, as well as the streets in the neighborhood. She said the nearby freeway creates a dam, retaining water in her neighborhood.
