OREM — Two Orem men have been arrested after allegedly soliciting sex from two teenaged sisters.

Alexander Navidad-Hernandez, 27, and Javier Santos-Jacobo, 36, allegedly approached two sisters, a 14-year-old and a 16-year-old, near the Macey's at 880 N. State Street on Wednesday.

One of the men asked the girls, "Do you need some money?" and handed the 14-yar-old a $5 bill along with his phone number. Before leaving, he said, "If you want some more money, call me," according to police.

"It's pretty appalling this stuff goes on," said Lt. Craig Martinez with the Orem Police Department. "A lot of people don't know it goes on, but it does. Fortunately for us, this worked out the best way it possibly could."

The teens told their father, who had the 16-year-old call the man to see what his intentions were. When she called, the girl was offered $30 to have sex with one of the men. He said he had a friend to bring along, too.

The teens' father called the Orem Police Department and detectives set up a sting for the suspects. The victims set up a meeting with Navidad-Hernandez and Santos-Jacobo at Orem Junior High School. When they arrived, the men were arrested.

"When you have two men who show up in a car that they say they are going to show up in the parking lot, and they are the only ones there, we knew we had our guys," Martinez said.

Navidad-Hernandez and Santos-Jacobo were both booked into the Utah County Jail on suspicion of enticing a minor and sexual solicitation.
