WEBER COUNTY, Utah (AP) -- The owners of Powder Mountain Ski Resort today filed a petition with Weber County to incorporate as a new town.
Last month, the resort won endorsement for a 4,400-acre rezoning from the Ogden Valley Township Planning Commissio -- but strings attached, including building a second road into the resort.
The Weber County Commission has final say over rezoning and development plans, but incorporation would allow Powder Mountain to have its own planning commission.
Owner Scott Doughman says the law allowing incorporation ensures the resort's property rights are fairly represented in local government.
