Team coverageA man shot in the head during a road rage incident on Tuesday night, and the suspect is still on the loose.

Friends tell us the victim is in critical condition, on life support. The driver of the victim's car told KSL a truck cut him off as he pulled out of the parking lot. He thinks the driver of that truck was just trying to scare them, but he says, the guy killed somebody, and he needs to pay for that.

Morgan Taylor was giving a friend a ride home when they stopped at the store for groceries. Taylor says, as he turned left to go west on 7200 South, a man in a dark green Toyota Tacoma, cut him off.

"I told him to slow down, and I asked him, 'What's your problem?'" Taylor said. He says the driver of the truck began following him. Then he saw the man reach for something under his seat.

"I just said, 'That guy's got a gun', and the last thing I heard Frank say was, 'Oh my God, he's got a gun', and then I had no clue or idea that guy would actually do what he did," Taylor told KSL.

Forty-three-year-old Frank Saucedo, was in the passenger seat and was shot once in the back of the head. Police say the bullet missed Saucedo's girlfriend, who was in the back seat.

The gunshots rattled people in an apartment complex nearby. Craig Hall says, "I was just getting something to eat in the kitchen, had the TV on, and then I hear, ‘bang' and then another one, ‘bang.'"

A 911 caller saw the suspect's truck going east on 7200 South. "There is a black truck that sped through a red light. It looked like it was going, it was just driving recklessly."

Taylor turned his car around and headed to the hospital. He flagged down a sheriff's deputy, in the Fort Union area. Taylor says his friend, whom he describes as "a big-hearted guy," is on life support.

Taylor's urging the shooter to turn himself in. He also wants others to learn from this. "If somebody cuts you off, ignore it, cause it isn't worth it," he said.

Taylor says Saucedo's family is planning to take Saucedo off life support.

Police are looking for a dark green Toyota Tacoma with an extended cab. It's a late 90s-early 2000 model. The shooter is a man in his late 20s or early 30s. He has dark hair and a goatee.
