WEST VALLEY CITY — West Valley police released photos of a man who they said tried to rob a bank but left empty handed when it took too long.
Police said the man entered the Chase Bank at 4065 W. 3500 South Wednesday at 4:36 p.m.
He handed a note to a teller demanding money and mentioning a gun, but no weapon was seen. The man appeared to be uncomfortable with the amount of time it was taking for the teller to get the money, and left the bank empty handed.
The would-be robber was wearing dark blue jeans, a black shirt, black shoes, and a black hoodie style jacket. He also wore a reflective construction type vest over the hoodie, clear work style glasses, and a black baseball hat.
- White male
- 25-30 years old
- 5'8" to 5'10" tall
- 160 lbs
Police think he left in a red, older model Chevy S-10 Blazer that was seen speeding away from the bank.
West Valley detectives and the FBI are asking for the public's help in identifying the person seen in surveillance photos.
