PAYSON — A Payson teenager died after losing control while riding a motorcycle in Payson Canyon.
Utah County Sheriff Sgt. Spencer Cannon said someone spotted Alexander Davis, 19, of Payson, in the river south of Maple Dell Scout Camp, 20 feet away from the Payson Canyon Road. It happened about 7:15 p.m. Thursday.
Cannon said Davis sustained significant head and neck trauma when he apparently failed to navigate a left turn and his motorcycle went over the edge of the road.
No cell service was available in the area so a witness drove out of the canyon to call 911.
Bystanders rendered first aid until medical personnel arrived, but he was declared dead at the scene when paramedics were unable to revive him.
