OGDEN — Ogden Police officers arrested a man after responding to a shooting at a party around 12 a.m. Friday night.

Police officers arrived at an ongoing house party located at the 500 block of 31st Street. Marcus Pringle, 32, and another man had an altercation at the party and Pringle was asked to leave the house, according to an Ogden Police Department news release.

Pringle returned to the party and an argument broke out with the same man from the previous altercation. Pringle pulled out a hand gun and began firing several shots at the man. The victim was shot in the ankle and taken to McKay Dee Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Pringle was charged in Ogden City Justice Court earlier this month with intentional criminal mischief, drug possession and disorderly conduct, all misdemeanors, according to court records. He was found guilty last year in justice court of misdemeanor assault.

In 2002, Pringle was sentenced to the Utah State Prison after being found guilty of illegal purchase or possession a dangerous weapon, a second-degree felony, and firing a weapon from a vehicle, a third-degree felony, according to court records.
