PARK CITY — Two people were arrested Wednesday in connection with an arson fire at a local hotel and a burglary at a high school during a destructive night.
James Morris, 19, and a 16-year-old boy, both from Park City, were arrested for investigation of three counts of burglary, aggravated arson and causing a catastrophe. Morris was booked into the Summit County Jail and the teen was taken to Salt Lake Juvenile Detention.
Investigators believe the duo is responsible for an arson at the Park City Marriott Hotel, 1850 Sidewinder Drive, and burglaries at Park City High School, 1750 Kearns Blvd., and the Carriage House Condominiums, 1940 Prospector Ave.
On Tuesday night, for an unknown reason, police believe the two set fire to a storage area in the parking garage after checking their email.

The fire caused about $3,000 damage to the structure and several chairs that were stored inside, Carpenter said.
The duo then broke into the high school, followed by a vacant nearby timeshare, Carpenter said. The two apparently intended on staying the night at the condo and hanging out there, he said.
Investigators used surveillance video from the hotel to identify one of the people invovled and make the arrests.
