I'm not from Ogden, but I really like swingsets. I sure hope there were no swingsets involved in irregularities.

@Ben D. - I didn't know the ACLU studies constipation either. There are a lot of people in Ogden who don't get enough fiber. Maybe Ogden can put fiber in their water like other cities put flouride in their water.
I have been a resident of ogden for many years. No other mayor in the history of ogden has been so optimistic about the future and willing to take the risk of revitalizing the city of Ogden than Mathew Godfrey. He was elected in 1999 by the voters of ogden because the mayor of the time was not doing anything to bring the city back to the place we want to be. Since Mathew Godfrey has been in office we have seen many improvements to the ogden area including the Historic 25th Street, Jefferson Ave and now the new Junction. I am impressed with the willingness Mathew Godfrey has to help our city. If you do not like change move out. Thats all i have to say go dig yourself a hole and live there then you wont have to worry about change. It is going to happen whether you like it or not and if you want to pay higher taxes then keep complaining or go move to a city with a higher gang presence. Ogden is farther off than it was back before Mayor Godfrey.
@Joshua M. - I just think he's got his priorities all screwed up. He should have "cleaned up" Ogden before putting nice clean attractions downtown. Bring on the vandalism!
@Joshua M. - There is no doubt that Godfrey AND others that have been brought into the organizing downtown have done a fantastic job, but that does not dismiss the fact that Godfrey is a spoiled brat who has abused his authority on many occasions.
You can not dismiss how he tried to cheat the Stewart Foundation out of the Children’s Treehouse. His attitude at the dedication said it all. What about the suspension of officers for daring to speak out against him and his puppy dog Greiner? Oh and how he has continued to dodge questions about his wife's personal investments in companies who have appeared in downtown? What about the federal funding that was forgotten to apply for and the federal funding that was reserved for a gondola that will never happen, that same funding which could have been used for more feasible public transportation projects. Most of all, let's not forget about the Gondola.

There’s a lot of others who have done a lot of good that have been overshadowed by this idiot who wants all to believe it was all him. can Mayor Godfrey control "voter intimation of voters"? The guy can't be every where. Besides, if a voter wishes to subtlety point out the differences between one candidate and another what's the harm?

I hate Matthew Godfrey.
And I was one of those who they tried to turn away saying I didn't live in Ogden. Yeah, I've lived in the Ghetto on Washington Blvd for almost a year and half now. It was ridiculous.

Here are the facts. I live in downtown Ogden, where I am registered to vote and have been for quite sometime.
However, the folks in charge of checking ID questioned my residence, claiming I wasn't even registered to vote and tried turning me away, which is one of the issues the ACLU has with this.
That is the ridiculous part. People telling me I don't live in Ogden when my ID says so. Along with telling me I'm not registered when I have been since I was 18.
Just think how many other people may have had this same problem. It has nothing to do with the outcome of the election but the process of voting.

I think of some crazed dork sitting in his basement playing Sim City. He looks like a dork. And he's playing with Ogden. He banned Haunted Houses for crying out loud. Too bad we don't have functions in REAL life to set off some kind of natural disaster like in his favorite game (Sim City) and target it at his house. He's corrupt and I hope people start to see this.
when the votes were being counted. The candidates representatives, tried to harass, and deliberately impede the work of the election staff. I was assigned the building security, for the election night counting. Inspite of the harassment by the candidates representatives, the County Election staff performed exceptionally well. The representatives were treated most courteous, by the staff. Mr. Mceuan, and Mrs. Barret, were patient far beyond what any other person would have tolerated, from the very unprofessional representatives. the American Criminal Liberties Union, will not find any irregularities, or wrong doing with the County. If Ogden City would have handled the election results, Godfrey would have been made supreme dictator on November 6th. His staff wanted the absentee ballots thrown out, and the provisional ballots, also.
I agree with those of you that say, that if you don't agree with the city, move out. I did, and I am extremely thankful that I did.
I will always fight the Gondola, because it is another mistake, by the city, serves no useful purpose, and will ruin a beautiful mountain.
Enjoy your city, but don't harass the professionals that were doing the job. No one else would have done

AND GOD 4 bid if we can impeach the president, we should be able to impeach the mayor of Ogden he is a sorry Mayor here in Ogden you can not have grass taller then him or you will get a warning he took away the Haunted House, he a Cry BABY, FREEdom of Speach in Mayor matthew Godfrey, eye is calling the Ogden city Police and and telling them there a big big truck in Ogden driving around with his name on it so wut you dam cry baby you, with you in office we are becoming the next iraq, get out and put the gondola in your back yard and the river project in you family bac yard due to you people had to stay out in the street with there kids and have no christmas, you grench, let all pland a day in front of the mayor office to get him out and pland on being hauld away in handcufs, im gain

Maybe next time the Democrats can come up with a better candidate. Surely in the whole of Ogden there's somebody with more brains than Godfrey, but you could never tell from political candidates.
