Today we're taking on the fight over guns. It's a red-hot topic across the country. Congress and lawmakers here find themselves in the middle: Is there a balance between gun rights and gun control? Here in Utah most of the proposed bills are not about taking guns away, rather, strengthening the rights of those who own them. We will discuss the bills with Clark Aposhian, chairman on the Utah Shooting Sports Council and Gary Sackett, board member of the Gun Violence Prevention Center.

Every time there is a mass shooting, a lot of attention turns to mental illness. But the reality is, the vast majority of people who are violent do not suffer from mental illness. Those inaccurate beliefs about mental illness and violence have lead to widespread stigma and discrimination.
So where does mental illness fit into the debate over gun control? Rebecca Glathar, executive director of the Utah chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness discusses it.

The legislature is considering a proposal that would expand the 80 mile per hour zones the Highway Patrol has been testing. Doug Wright takes the idea on a test drive.
