NEW YORK — When you ask a 6-year-old to create the plot for your next movie, you never know what you're going to get.

In the case of New York City filmmaker Bianca Giaever, it was a surprisingly inspirational story about fighting your fear with the things you like. Her film has had more than half a million views on Vimeo since it was posted one week ago.

Six-year-old Asa Baker-Rouse's 8-minute-long story about two friends and what it means to fight "the scared" includes a list of things that would battle Asa's personal "scared": a chocolate chip oatmeal cookie shaped like a piano keyboard, pizza, meringues and juice are just the beginning.

"When the scared feeling comes into you, the scared is scared of things you like," Asa says in the film.

The film starts off light-hearted, as Asa tries to get through the logistics of his dream film. He decides the film will be about an "Asa bear" and a "Toby mouse" who go to the pool. About halfway through the film, Asa waxes inspirational, though.

"If something feels like (it's) closing, you should just say, ‘OK, I'm fine,' " he says. "I usually let it go. I just think of something I really like to do, and you just think of something else until the nervous has gone out of you. I let that thing disappear out of my head."
