SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - A man arrested in August for sexually abusing two young girls who were family friends has plead guilty to the charges against him.

Court records show 43-year-old Timothy Bothell accepted charges of attempted aggravated sexual abuse and lewdness involving a child.

The Centerville man took a plea deal Tuesday in 2nd District Court.

Court records accused Bothell of exposing his genitals to a pair of girls and fondling one of them last year.

Police say the 11- and 13-year-old girls were family friends.

Bothell will return to 2nd District Court for sentencing Jan. 29.

Bothell, a former employee of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was terminated by the church missionary department when charges were filed in August and relieved of his position as a local priesthood leader. He served in an LDS stake high council in Centerville at the time of the charges.
