SALT LAKE CITY — One Utah company is giving back to the community by donating a lot of money for Autism.

Riley Blake Designs is a fabric manufacturing company located in Sandy. They created an exclusive fabric line and teamed up with Autism Speaks, the nation's largest autism science and advocacy organization, to come up with a great way to raise money for research and awareness.

The new fabric line, "Pieces of Hope," raised $21,800, and on Wednesday, Riley Blake Designs donated all the proceeds to Autism Speaks and a local Utah school for children with Autism, the Carmen B. Pingree Center.

Not only was the fabric line created to raise money for a good cause, but the design itself was made with autism in mind.

"We designed the fabric to represent the experience of having autism," said co-owner of Riley Blake Designs, Cindy Cloward. "There are words, numbers, puzzle pieces and patterns in a variety of colors. In all, there is a total 18 different coordinating designs in the collection."

The Carmen B. Pingree Center plans to update their Wifi system with the donated money. Earlier in the year, another generous Utah company donated iPads to the school to help the students learn more efficiently.

"Having the iPad with internet access, means students won't be stuck in the classroom," said Brian Cloward, director of sales at Riley Blake Designs. "They'll be able to move throughout the school and learn in different settings."

Cloward and his wife, Jenna, came up with the idea for "Pieces of Hope" and they have a son with autism.
