(KSL News) Mayor Rocky Anderson wants to start working for his new nonprofit organization before he's out of office.
Anderson sent a letter to members of the Salt Lake City Council this week requesting a waiver so he can begin raising funds for the organization, which will focus on human rights and climate change issues. He has said he will not use his title or office to solicit funds.
If the waiver is not approved by the council, Anderson will begin work with the group the day after his term ends in January.
