(KSL News) A man trying to move a stalled car out of freeway traffic is now in the hospital with critical injuries.
According to the Utah Highway Patrol, Ricardo Aguirre Zuzueta's car stalled as he was getting on I-15 near 900 North. He got out of the car and was pushing it when he was hit by another car coming down the on-ramp.
Sgt. Mike Wells, Utah Highway Patrol, said, "It's a dangerous situation. He's right in the main flow of traffic. He's trying to do what's right by getting it off the freeway because he could have been hit by main-flow traffic as well."
The 34-year-old was taken to the hospital and had both legs amputated.
A passenger, who was helping move the car, was not injured. The driver of the other vehicle was also not hurt.
