SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- An out of control semitrailer exited Interstate 80 this morning and crashed head-on with an SUV after it couldn't stop at an intersection.
The driver of the semi told police he was having brake problems so he got of the interstate at Parleys Way.
He traveled west down 2100 South and had to run a red light at 1700 East when he couldn't stop the truck. He tried to veer onto the lawns of Highland High School and that's when he struck the SUV.
The woman driving the SUV was taken to the hospital with a broken leg. Passengers in the SUV and the driver of the semi were not seriously injured.
Police are investigating the crash.
