Volunteers provide free heath care
July 10th, 2010 @ 9:13pm

SALT LAKE CITY -- Thousands of Utahns received free health care Saturday thanks to a generous group of volunteers.

The Junior League of Salt Lake teamed up with scores of doctors and community volunteers for the 18th annual C.A.R.E Fair. The two day event, which ended Saturday evening, provided free medical services to those who need it most.

One participant, Ivana Escalona, said, "We don't really have insurance to pay and go to dentists and doctors."

Another patient, Marcus Griffin, added, "We don't have insurance, so we're really excited that we could get this done for free."

Large crowds showed up so the wait was long, in some cases three to five hours. But everyone we talked to said the wait was time well spent.
