SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- The Eccles family is funding an endowed chair at the University of Utah's Department of Orthopedics.
The university announced Monday that the George S. and Dolores Eccles Foundation made the $1 million donation.
The gift creates an endowed chair to provide perpetual support for innovation on the university's orthopedics faculty.
The U.'s orthopedics chairman, Dr. Charles L. Saltzman, says the donation will fund top-level researchers and clinicians.
