SANDY -- A three-car crash on Interstate 15 in Sandy killed a Riverton woman Monday night.
Utah Highway Patrol troopers say the woman's husband was driving north on I-15 around 9200 South at freeway speeds around 7:30 p.m. when he lost control of their green Chevy Cavalier.
The car hit two other vehicles as it spun across the lanes and slammed into a concrete barrier.
Troopers say 37-year-old Carolina Coss was ejected and died at the scene. They still are investigating the wreck but say rain and standing water made the freeways very dangerous.
Sgt. Anthony Carrubba of the Utah Highway Patrol said, "In these conditions it only takes 65 to 70 miles per hour. If you hit a wet patch, you can very easily lose control like this driver did."
Troopers say Cross was not wearing a seat belt.
No one else was seriously injured in the wreck.
