SALT LAKE CITY -- Two California men accused of using skimming devices to steal credit and debit card numbers in Richfield now face federal charges.

Prosecutors filed charges against 55-year-old Levon Karamyn and 27-year-old Robert Fichidzyan Tuesday afternoon.

A technician servicing pumps at two convenience stores in Richfield found eight electronic skimmers two weeks ago and called police. Officers arrested Karamyn and Fichidzyan when they returned to the pumps, allegedly to gather the information.

Detectives found that more than 600 credit card numbers had been illegally captured on just one of the four devices.

Both suspects are scheduled for an initial court appearance Thursday morning. They face up to 10 years in federal prison if convicted.
