OGDEN, Utah (AP) -- Ogden is among the nation's leaders when it comes to the number of energy-efficient public buildings.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency ranked the northern Utah city 21st in the nation among metropolitan areas whose public buildings were evaluated for energy efficiency.

The EPA says Ogden has 51 commercial buildings classified as "Energy Stars."

The classification is given to buildings that perform in the top 25 percent nationwide in terms of energy efficiency. The EPA says there are now 9,000 buildings with that title across the United States.
