LONDON (AP) — Andy Murray has become a father for the first time after his wife, Kim Sears, gave birth to a girl.

Murray's management company says Sears gave birth on Sunday, a week after the 28-year-old Scot lost the Australian Open final. No further details were provided.

It means all top four players in the men's game are fathers with Murray now joining Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer and Stan Wawrinka.

The No.2-ranked Murray said before the Australian Open he would withdraw from the tournament and fly home if Sears went into labour.

Murray's next competitive games are due to be March 4-6 at the start of Britain's Davis Cup defense against Japan in the central English city of Birmingham.
