CAEN, France (AP) — Almost two years before the 2016 Summer Olympics starts, the first competitors have qualified for the Rio de Janeiro Games.

The International Equestrian Federation says Germany, Britain and Netherlands earned their Olympic entries in team dressage Tuesday by finishing in the medal positions at the World Equestrian Games.

The same three teams also took the medals at the 2012 London Olympics.

On Tuesday, Olympic silver medalist Germany won to reverse London placings with the British. The Dutch repeated as bronze medalists.

The FEI says the team eventing competition on Sunday will also decide some Olympic entries.

The Rio Games are held Aug. 5-21.
