DEAL, N.J. (AP) — Two-time defending champion Ellen Port and Brenda Pictor shared the U.S. Senior Women's Amateur qualifying lead at even-par 73 on Saturday at Hollywood Golf Club.

The 52-year-old Port, from St. Louis, has a record four U.S. Women's Mid-Amateur titles and captained the winning U.S. Curtis Cup team in June.

"The last three weeks, I have really worked hard on my game," Port said. "On the range, I probably have hit the ball as well as I have ever hit it. I feel really good with where my game is now."

The 59-year-old Pictor is from Marietta, Georgia.

Jamie Hoffmann of Escondido, California; Louella Kanew of South Africa; and Pamela Kuong of Wellesley Hills, Massachusetts, were tied for third at 76.

The top 64 after the second round of qualifying Sunday will advance to match play.
