Italy goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon doesn't expect Monday's game against Spain to be his last even if the team is eliminated from the European Championship.
The 38-year-old Buffon says his "idea is to continue" playing for another two years.
He says his decision ultimately will depend on whether he can keep playing at a high level to be selected for the national team.

Eden Hazard scored one goal and set up another to give Belgium a 4-0 win over Hungary and a spot European Championship quarterfinals.
Toby Alderweireld scored first for Belgium, heading in Kevin De Bruyne's free kick in the 10th minute. Substitute Michy Batshuayi then added the second in the 78th when he was left unmarked in front of goal, scoring from Hazard's cross two minutes after coming off the bench.
Hazard then scored his own goal two minutes later. The Chelsea playmaker raced down the left flank, cut inside and beat three players before curling a shot into the bottom right corner.
Yannick Carrasco added the final goal in injury time.
Belgium will next play Wales in the quarterfinals on Friday in Lille.

Toby Alderweireld scored to give Belgium a 1-0 halftime lead over Hungary at the European Championship.
Alderweireld was left unmarked in the 10th minute when Kevn De Bruyne floated in a free kick from the left. The Tottenham defender headed it powerfully under the bar.
De Bruyne almost doubled Belgium's lead in the 35th with another free kick, but his effort hit the crossbar. The Manchester City midfielder was also denied several times by Hungary goalkeeper Gabor Kiraly.
Thibaut Courtois almost gifted Hungary a goal as he completely missed the ball when trying to control a backpass. Fortunately for the Belgium goalkeeper, the ball trickled past his post.
Hungary almost equalized shortly before halftime when Gergo Lovrencsics' shot hit the crossbar.

Germany produced its best performance yet at the European Championship, beating Slovakia 3-0 and advancing to the quarterfinals.
Jerome Boateng got the World Cup winners off to a good start when he scored from outside the penalty area in the eighth minute.
Despite dominating chances and possession, Germany had to wait until the 43rd for the next goal, scored by Mario Gomez with a simple finish at the near post. Julian Draxler added the third with a volley in the 63rd after Mats Hummels got his head to a corner.
Mesut Ozil had the chance to score another in the first half after Martin Skrtel conceded a penalty for a blatant shove on Gomez, but Slovakia goalkeeper Matus Kozacik guessed the right way and palmed away the spot kick.
Germany will next face either Spain or Italy in the quarterfinals in Bordeaux on Saturday.

World heavyweight boxing champion Tyson Fury has had an expensive round — buying drinks for a bar crammed with England fans in Nice.
Fury, wearing an England jersey, arrived unannounced in Nice's historic old town on Sunday, the evening before England plays Iceland in the round of 16 at the European Championship.
The boxer, who recently postponed a title rematch against Wladimir Klitschko that had been scheduled for July 9, citing an ankle injury, was mobbed by the fans and led them, pied piper-like, into a nearby bar before buying Jaegermeister shots for them all.
Fury, sweaty and without his jersey, emerged a short while later and walked away.

Spain coach Vicente Del Bosque says the Spanish media has been trying to disrupt the squad's positive atmosphere at the European Championship.
A day before Spain faces Italy in the round of 16 at Stade de France, Del Bosque told Radio Marca that the media back home has published "lie after lie" about his players at Euro 2016.
The latest was about reports related to his alleged problem with veteran goalkeeper Iker Casillas, who lost his spot as a starter in France. There were also negative reports when midfielder Pedro Rodriguez complained about his lack of playing time at Euro 2016.
Del Bosque says the press "can mess with me because I don't have anything to lose," but not with his players.
He says the unfounded reports and the negative headlines are "annoying" and "sad."
Defender Jordi Alba says "it's the media who is making up problems" about the national team.

France coach Didier Deschamps is optimistic that Kingsley Coman can recover quickly after twisting his ankle in the 2-1 win over Ireland.
The 20-year-old winger came on for the second half, but was hobbling near the touchline at the end and was replaced in injury time by midfielder Moussa Sissoko.
Speaking after the game, Deschamps said the injury "doesn't look too bad," adding that "Kingsley is young and he recovers quickly."
France wil play either England or Iceland in the quarterfinals in Saint-Denis on Sunday.

Jerome Boateng and Mario Gomez scored to give Germany a 2-0 halftime lead over Slovakia in the round of 16 at the European Championship.
Boateng scored in the eighth minute when he shot from outside the penalty area and put the ball inside the left post.
Mesut Ozil had the chance to add another six minutes later after Martin Skrtel conceded a penalty for a blatant shove on Gomez, but Matus Kozacik guessed the right way and palmed away his spot kick.
Ozil, Thomas Mueller and Toni Kroos all missed further chances before Gomez finally beat Kozacik at his near post in the 43rd after some fine work from Julian Draxler.
Marek Hamsik had gone close in a rare chance for Slovakia just before, but Manuel Neuer tipped his effort over.

England coach Roy Hodgson says Iceland counterpart Lars Lagerback deserves to have a statue made in his honor after leading the small Nordic country to its greatest soccer success.
Under the Swede, Iceland qualified for its first major tournament and remains unbeaten as it prepares to face England in the round of 16 at the European Championship.
Hodgson and Lagerback were coaches together in Swedish club soccer in the 1970s and 1980s, with Lagerback following Hodgson's lead in using a back four.
Hodgson says Lagerback's contribution to Swedish soccer is "fantastic" and praised him for making teams like Iceland "unbelievably difficult to beat."
Hodgson adds that "his chances of a statue are a damn sight greater than mine."

Iceland's players have been likened to an "army" ahead of their European Championship match against England.
Responding to a question about the post-war shipping dispute between the countries from the 1950s to the '70s known as the "Cod Wars," which was over the rights to fish in Icelandic waters, Iceland coach Heimir Hallgrimsson said Sunday "that is the only time Iceland has gone to war. We are too few to have an army."
Referring to the Iceland team, Hallgrimsson added "these guys are the Icelandic army. That is why everyone (in Iceland) is supporting them."
Iceland, a nation of 330,000 people, came out on top regarding the settlements from the "Cod Wars" but are underdogs going into the game in Nice on Monday.

Antoine Griezmann scored two second-half goals to lead France to a 2-1 comeback victory over Ireland and give his team a spot in the European Championship quarterfinals.
Ireland, which finished the match with 10 players, took the lead at Stade de Lyon from a second-minute penalty by Robbie Brady after Paul Pogba fouled Shane Long in the box.
But Griezmann turned in Bacary Sagna's cross with a header in the 58th and then scored another in the 61st after Olivier Giroud fended off a defender to head a pass into his path.
Griezmann was also involved when Ireland defender Shane Duffy was given a straight red card in the 66th. Duffy fouled the France forward with only the goalkeeper to beat.
The goals were Griezmann's second and third of the tournament. He also scored a late goal in France's 2-0 win over Albania in the group stage.
France will next play either England or Iceland in the quarterfinals.

Less than 24 hours after being eliminated from the European Championship, Switzerland forward Breel Embolo has secured a move to Bundesliga club Schalke.
Swiss champion Basel and Schalke said Sunday that the 19-year-old striker has signed a five-year contract.
Basel says the fee will not be disclosed, though it is reportedly 25 million euros ($27.8 million).
Embolo played in each of Switzerland's games at Euro 2016 without scoring, and was a second-half substitute against Poland in the round of 16 on Saturday. Poland won a penalty shootout after the match finished 1-1 after extra time.
Embolo has won three Swiss league titles with Basel, and has traded a place in the group stage of the Champions League for the Europa League with Schalke next season.

Spain is pledging to stick to its acclaimed passing game to try to break through Italy's equally famous defense in the round of 16 of the European Championship on Monday.
Facing one of the best defenses at Euro 2016, Spain is vowing to stay patient and keep the ball for as long as needed to create scoring chances against its old rival in Monday's match at Stade de France.
Spain midfielder Thiago Alcantara says "it's difficult to score and it's difficult to create opportunities against them."
With Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta in command, Spain finished the group stage as the most accurate passing team at Euro 2016, completing 93 percent of its passes. It also had the most passing attempts among all 24 teams that started the tournament, with 2,023. That was nearly double what Italy had in its first three games.
