MADRID (AP) — Sporting Gijon and Rayo Vallecano drew 2-2 in the Spanish league on Friday, a result that left both teams near the relegation zone.

Miguel Angel Guerrero put Sporting ahead after a blunder by Joaquin "Quini" Marin in the fifth minute before Venezuelan striker Nicolas Fedor Miku equalized for Rayo in the 39th.

Croatian midfielder Alen Halilovic put the hosts ahead again just before halftime before Jozabed Sanchez Ruiz completed the scoring in the 58th at El Molinon Stadium in Gijon.

The draw kept Rayo in 15th place with 24 points from 24 matches, one point ahead of 16th-place Sporting, which has a game in hand.

Rayo extended its unbeaten streak to five games, while Sporting hasn't lost in four.

Sporting hosts Barcelona next week in a game postponed from December.
