CHICAGO (AP) — The Chicago Blackhawks have placed Marian Hossa on injured reserve and recalled center Vincent Hinostroza from Rockford of the American Hockey League.

Hossa was hurt when he was hit by Anaheim defenseman Hampus Lindholm on his lower left leg in the second period of Chicago's 3-2 loss Saturday night. The 37-year-old winger, sitting on 496 career goals, had to be helped off the ice and went straight to the locker room.

Hinostroza, 21, made his NHL debut on Oct. 17. The Chicago-area native has no points in four games with the Blackhawks this season.

The Blackhawks host the Toronto Maple Leafs on Monday night.
