Canadiens sign forward Tomas Fleischmann to 1-year deal

MONTREAL (AP) — Forward Tomas Fleischmann and the Montreal Canadiens agreed to a one-year contract reportedly worth $750,000 on Sunday.

The 31-year-old Fleischmann played 66 games with the Florida Panthers and Anaheim Ducks in 2014-15, scoring eight times and adding 19 assists.

Fleischmann has 123 goals and 187 assists in 581 regular-season games with the Washington Capitals, Colorado Avalanche, Florida and Anaheim.

He added four goals and five assists in 35 playoff games.

Fleischmann was invited as a professional tryout to the Canadiens' training camp. He appeared in four preseason games, scoring once and adding two assists.
