MILWAUKEE (AP) — Detroit guard Brandon Jennings will miss his first game of the season Tuesday at Milwaukee because of a hyperextended left thumb.
He injured the thumb late Friday in a 99-89 loss at Atlanta.
Jennings, who spent his first four seasons with the Bucks, is averaging 16 points and 5.8 assists.
He was unable to shoot in his team's shootaround Tuesday morning and will be replaced in the starting lineup by D.J. Augustin.
"I don't think it changes a whole lot," Detroit coach Stan Van Gundy said before the game. "We'll play like we normally do when D.J. is in. What changes is your bench dynamic."
