MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — New York Knicks coach Mike Woodson is acknowledging that this season has been a "major challenge." But he says he still thinks he is the man to lead the struggling team.

Woodson spoke on Wednesday morning ahead of his team's game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Knicks have lost seven straight games to fall to 21-40 overall and 11th place in the Eastern Conference.

Woodson says he doesn't think his players are tuning him out. He says he has seen the competitive edge slip away at key moments in games, which he thinks is the biggest reason for the losing.

It's been a massively disappointing season for the Knicks, who won 54 games in the regular season last year and advanced to the Eastern Conference semifinals in the playoffs.
