DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) - Dubai police say an Uzbek woman involved in a paternity dispute is in custody after a 13-hour standoff in a government building where she threatened to detonate what she claimed was an explosive belt.

The belt was found to contain no explosive material after the woman surrendered early Monday, a police statement said. She had demanded to see officials in Dubai's public prosecutor's office over her efforts to prove a jailed Syrian man is the father of her child.

The building was evacuated Sunday after the woman, accompanied by her young son, entered the lobby with the belt hidden under traditional Islamic coverings.
