GENEVA (AP) - U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry will travel to Israel this weekend to meet Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to discuss ongoing peace talks with the Palestinians and developments in Syria.
Taking a break from contentious negotiations in Geneva with Russia over securing Syria's chemical weapons, Kerry will fly to Tel Aviv on Sunday and meet Netanyahu. The State Department said Kerry and Netanyahu will have an in-depth discussion on the peace talks and Syria.
Kerry had planned to meet Netanyahu earlier this month in Rome on his last trip to Europe. During that trip, he saw Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas in London.
