DELRAY BEACH, Fla. (AP) — Actress Lindsay Lohan's stepmother is accused of assaulting a police officer following a domestic disturbance in South Florida.
Jail records show 33-year-old Kate Lohan was arrested Sunday on charges of disorderly intoxication and battery on a law enforcement officer.
News media outlets report arrest documents say officers arriving at a Delray Beach home found Kate Lohan yelling and apparently drunk. Police say her husband, Michael Lohan, Lindsay Lohan's father, refused to let her inside his home.
Police say Kate Lohan threatened to throw a bag of ice in an officer's face. She was arrested after trying to lunge past an officer to get inside the home.
While walking her to a patrol car, police say Kate Lohan kicked an officer in the leg.
Kate Lohan told the Sun Sentinel (http://bit.ly/2dRgysk ) she was trying to protect herself.
