NEW YORK (AP) - Mark Helprin's next novel will have a touch of Hollywood.

Helprin has a deal with Henry Holt and Company for the novel "Avocado," scheduled for the spring of 2015. It will be released through the John Macrae Books imprint.

The publisher said in a statement Tuesday that "Avocado" is a "lyrical, romantic and madcap novel set in post-World War I that follows a married couple in search of success from Brooklyn to the California avocado groves and then to Hollywood at the twilight of the silent film era."

The 66-year-old Helprin is known for such novels as "A Soldier of the Great War," "Refiner's Fire" and "Winter's Tale," a romantic historical fantasy that has been adapted into a film of the same name. The movie stars Colin Farrell and Jessica Brown Findlay. It's scheduled to come out Feb. 14.
