NEW YORK (AP) — The National Science Board is honoring museums in New York and Boston for their work in educating the public about science.

New York's American Museum of Natural History and Boston's National Center for Technological Literacy will receive the science board's 2015 Public Service Award.

The AMNH is being honored for its long history of presenting exhibitions and public programs as well as recent initiatives like its Master of Arts in teaching degree.

The National Center for Technological Literacy was created by Boston's Museum of Science. It has pioneered engineering curriculum materials for K-12 schools.
