Celebrated Chef Meryl van der Merwe is now offering locals a toasty, tasty and timely South African treat in Park City. Jafflz is a fast-casual, gourmet food concept based on the classic South African toasted "jaffle" pocket sandwich.
All of Chef Meryl's jaffles are made from scratch daily using only the finest ingredients. All Jafflz™ are served with a choice of white, wheat or gluten free bread. Guests can place their order and watch their jaffles being made by hand through the large chef's kitchen or quickly grab-and-go from a pre-made selection.
It was the introduction of a jaffle to Kevin Plank, founder and CEO of Under Armour, and his family that launched Chef Meryl's Jafflz™ venture. Having served as a private chef to the Planks for many years, Chef Meryl formed a long-time relationship with the family, who helped to make Jafflz™ an extension of her Du Monde Gourmet private chef business. Jafflz will also open 12 corporate stores, and then will look into franchising nationwide.
