This week, a group of students from the Weber School District will travel to Kentucky for the ultimate showdown in robotics.

This team from Weber built their robot after school this year. There are three students from Bonneville High, two from Roy High, and one from Fremont High School.

Their little, yet big robot, is made up of three parts: The drive section that allows it to move in any direction, it expands from 18 inches tall up to six feet, and then a conveyor that sucks up cubes with these hooks. Th main goal is to build and use the cubes to create a tower.

Career and Technical Education Coordinator John Donley says "We are always so impressed with these kids, they're so good at taking all the things that they learned and putting it not just into this project but their future."

The team leaves for Lexington, Kentucky on Wednesday morning where they'll compete against 400 teams from around the world.
