The massive landslide in Washington state has had many challenges. Rains have made searching tough, as well as obstacles like household chemicals. These before-and-after photos are jaw dropping. The debris field is about 300 acres and you can see the river cut a new channel through the mud. Crews have constructed a makeshift road, helping with the recovery operation.

America is back on top when it comes to making the world's fastest car. The Hennessy Venom GT has stolen the title from Bugatti. The Venom GT has set a speed record for a production car; it hit 270.49 mph. Prices start at $1.2 million.

A UK team has developed a desktop robot that can change faces during conversations. The Soci Bot Mini has a depth-sensing camera for facial recognition, so you could actually have your friend's face on the robot while you're chatting. It's about 2 feet tall and uses an internal projector. Uses could include shopping centers, theme parks, or jazzing up conference calls. The project will be on Kickstarter soon.
