OGDEN, Utah — Weber State senior Shaun McClain has been named to the 2013 College Football Performance Awards (CFPA) Watch list for placekickers. He is one of 33 players in FCS football named to the placekicker award list.
McClain, a native of Redlands, Calif., played in all 11 games as a junior for the Wildcats last season and made 22 of 23 extra point attempts, the seventh best percentage in the Big Sky. He also converted on nine of 12 field goal attempts on the season and made five field goals of 40 or more yards. He was a perfect 4-4 on field goal attempts under 40 yards.
McClain has appeared in 32 career games in his three seasons at Weber State. He has made 33 career field goals, seventh most in WSU history and has a career field goal percentage of .673. He has led the Wildcats in points scored in each of the past three seasons and ranks 14th in school history in career points scored with 178. He is seventh among kickers in career points scored.
McClain joins WSU senior Anthony Morales on this year's CFPA watch list. Morales was named to the linebacker watch list earlier this month.
The Wildcats open the 2013 season Aug. 31 with a home game against Stephen F. Austin.
