The 2012 Burbot Bash, the annual event up here at Flaming Gorge is just days away. Last year over 450 anglers showed up and put nearly 4000 burbot on the ice. Organizers are hoping for the same turnout this year.

But our winner tonight is a tip of the hat to a great waterfowl season. Brad and his son Kyle were out for one last duck hunt at Farmington Bay when Brad downed this great mallard with 4 curls.

The burbot from old french barbot, is the only freshwater (cod-like) fish. It is also known as a mariah, lawyer, and eelpout, and closely related to the common ling.

It never ceases to amaze me the amount of times I hear about sportsmen stepping up to help other sportsmen. Especially when it concerns kids and if you've watched the show, you know I kind of have a soft spot for stories like that and so tonight, we have another one for you. And so, we introduce you to a young man named Logan Bateman.

Apart from being the symbol of this great nation, the bald eagle is a symbol of the entire continent because it's endemic to north america...these great birds can be found from alaska and northern canada all the way down to the gulf of mexico.

Our winner tonight is a boy with a love of the hunt. Good thing, because the boys name, well it's Hunter of course. Darren says his son sat all day with him in the blind, didn't complain once and every time they downed a bird, young hunter was there to snatch it up.
