CASPER, Wyo. (AP) — Wyoming Catholic College academic dean Glenn Arbery has been named the school's new president.
The Casper Star-Tribune reports (http://bit.ly/1Wn6qH0 ) the announcement was made Monday, weeks after Kevin Roberts stepped down from the position. The college's board of directors had selected Arbery to replace Roberts as interim president.
Chairman Dave Kellogg says in a statement the school had been preparing to conduct a nationwide search for a new president, but eventually decided that Arbery was the best candidate.
Since Roberts took over in 2013, Wyoming's only private, four-year college has become known for its protection of religious freedoms and refusing government financial aid for students.
Arbery plans to continue a funding campaign to ensure students don't need federal assistance.
He will take over as president in mid-May.
