Memorial race planned for U. of Michigan student

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) — A memorial race is planned for May in honor of a slain University of Michigan medical student on the weekend he was set to have graduated from the medical program.

The Ann Arbor News reports (http://bit.ly/1hSrzae ) the run for Paul DeWolf will take place at 2 p.m. May 18 at Nichols Arboretum. The cost to register is $17.

Three men were charged in the July 23 death of 25-year-old DeWolf in his off-campus medical fraternity house in Ann Arbor, and one has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder.

DeWolf was a native of Schoolcraft in southwestern Michigan and a graduate of Grand Valley State University. He was attending medical school on an Air Force scholarship and held the rank of second lieutenant.
