SALT LAKE CITY — Police are looking for a light-colored SUV in connection with a hit-and-run accident that left a skateboarder critically injured Thursday evening.
Officers happened to be in the area of 220 West and 700 South at about 7:40 p.m. when they found an injured man, according Salt Lake Police Lt. Mark Buhman. Detectives believe the man, 23, was on a skateboard when he was hit by a light-colored SUV.
The driver left the scene, Buhman said.
The skateboarder was in critical condition, according to Buhman, and officials do not expect his condition to worsen.
Officers spent much of the night recreating the scene and searching for the SUV, which they believe has minor front-end damage from the impact.
Anyone with information is asked to call Salt Lake City police at 801-799-3000.
