All it
takes is a shoe box and a few bucks to make it a Merry Christmas.
The boxes are already piling up at one drop off point in Salt
Lake City.
The program
is called Operation Christmas Child. Locally, the Cavalry
Chapel collects shoe boxes stuffed with small toys, toothbrushes,
crayons and other fun items.
Then those -- along with thousands of others from all over
the country -- get shipped to children all over the world.
A lot of those kids wouldn't get a Christmas gift without
the program.
Today, a survivor of the Columbine High School shootings is
in Salt Lake telling her story, and helping to promote Operation
Christmas Child.
"I'm hooked on the project, not because of what it does
for me, but for what it does for a child," says Crystal
Woodman.
You can use any shoe box you have around the house. Just stuff
it and drop it off at any one of the following locations by
November 24th:
