Duplantis sets pole vault world record in opening Diamond League meet in China

XIAMEN, China — Armand Duplantis has added a centimeter to his own pole vault world record after clearing 6.24 meters at the season-opening Diamond League meet in China. The Olympic and two-time world champion set a world record for the eighth time on Saturday. He surpassed his 6.23 from last September at the Diamond League meet in Eugene, Oregon. Duplantis cleared 6.24 at his first try.
