THE YARD — I don't know how everyone else's brains work, but I know mine is kind of broken. One of the things I do regularly is have conversations with myself.
I have literally placed bets with my brain about whether we'll see a Toyota pickup on the freeway in the opposite direction before we hit the next exit. Then I'm upset when my brain doesn't pay up.
I've also had a back-and-forth, multiple times, of imaginary arguments with people just in case they bring up a specific conversation. In case you're curious, if my friend Brett ever mentions "True Lies" was the best action movie of 1994, he's in a world of hurt when I start in on the greatness of "Speed."
What I'm saying is I talk to myself a lot, and I love this video because I have found I am not alone.
KickBallDad is a social media page dedicated to a woman's dad. For many of the videos, he's got a hot mic while he does everyday chores. This is one of my favorites — when he is mowing the lawn. He's got a big yard, so it takes a while, even with the riding mower.
I'll let you enjoy the chatter, but a few of my favorite moments include a half-remembered rendition of Train's "Hey, Soul Sister" and pointing out birds to absolutely no one.
It's probably better for society that my thoughts in my head stay there and not out in public, but I'm glad this guy is keeping us entertained and putting a smile on our faces.
My big problem, however, is that he hasn't seen any bear droppings. That means he has seen it in the past, and there are bears on his lawn at times, and he doesn't seem concerned. I can't get started on the Bearpocalypse right now, but it is real, and he should be more worried about it.
