MINNEAPOLIS — The Minnesota Timberwolves were predictably irked when Anthony Edwards was not picked for the NBA All-Star Game. Their belief in his worthiness had plenty of backing around the league. Edwards said he wasn't surprised or disappointed. He said his slow start to the season made him think he wouldn't be selected. He's averaging nearly 25 points and is a top-20 scorer in the league. His value to the Timberwolves with three-time All-Star center Karl-Anthony Towns has been immeasurable this winter in terms of late-game playmaking, ball movement, improvement on defense and leadership.
