NAMPA, Idaho — A teen driver is lucky to be alive after a metal pole impaled his truck’s windshield and went through the door Friday.
Two teens in the truck had minor injuries, but photos show how close the pole was to severely injuring the driver. Nampa police said in a tweet the driver was going too fast and crashed through a fence and is “lucky to be alive.”

Please take a few minutes to talk to your driving-aged kids & remind them that driving is a big responsibility. This young driver was going too fast & crashed into a fence...lucky to be alive. They had minor injuries, everyone is grateful for that #WeCare#SlowDownpic.twitter.com/3x01SgZc6V
The crash happened near the 1400 block of Blakeslee Drive and speed was the only factor, said Sgt. Scott Mccain with the Nampa Police Department.
Neither teen was transported to the hospital at the time of the crash.
Police are encouraging parents to take a few minutes to talk to their driving-aged children about the serious responsibility of getting behind the wheel.
