LAS VEGAS (AP) - Las Vegas wedding chapels are seeing a spike in traffic as couples try to land a memorable 11/12/13 wedding date.
The Clark County clerk's office issued 1,399 marriage licenses in the four days leading up to Tuesday. That's a 28 percent increase from the same four-day period last year.
Clerk Diana Alba says the number of licenses is nowhere near what it was during the record-breaking days before July 7, 2007, when the calendar turned up lucky triple sevens.
But she says couples tend to gravitate toward dates like 11/12/13 that are easy to remember, or fall near a three-day weekend.
Unusual weddings around Sin City on Tuesday included a couple that got married on a motorcycle, and another pair that had a six-tier wedding cake made out of hamburgers.
