Burglary case solved thanks to DNA
November 8th, 2009 @ 9:34pm

MILLCREEK -- Some blood left on a broken window helped deputies solve a burglary case.

The Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office says back in May Donald Williams broke into a Millcreek garage. They say he then used a sledge hammer to break into the home and stole some jewelry.

Deputies found blood on the window and tested it. The results matched Williams.

"This is a very unique case and not something we can do very often, as far as matching DNA in a crime scene -— especially a crime like this," says Salt Lake County sheriff's Lt. Don Hutson.

Deputies say Williams was already in jail for the Glendale robbery. He now faces additional charges.
